On Monday (August 24), Jay-z is expected to announce a homecoming show to celebrate the release of his upcoming album, The Blueprint 3. According to The New York Times, the gig will reportedly take place at Madison Square Garden on September 11 and serve as a benefit for the New York Police and Fire Widows' and Children's Benefit Fund, a charity set up in 1985 to support the families of police officers and firefighters who have died in the line of duty.

A spokesperson for Jay could not be reached for comment at press time to confirm the specifics of the September 11 show, and no ticket information has been announced. In a sign of the times, though, tickets for the as-yet-unannounced show were already for sale on eBay on Monday morning, beginning at $599 for a pair.

On the heels of the MSG show, Jay will be performing at the MTV Video Music Awards on September 13, when he's also up for two Moonmen. The following day, on September 14, he'll hype his new album's release with an appearance on the debut of "The Jay Leno Show," where he'll be joined by Kanye West and Rihanna for a performance of "Run This Town."
