"Jay-Z was bartending ... pouring drinks for everyone," reports our spy about the 40-person-or-so gathering. Hosted by ILoveto (those hospitable boys known as Trexxx and Box), the party drew homegrown homie -- Toronto artist Drake -- but alas, no Beyonce.
Jay-Z was, by all accounts, ready to celebrate, coming off a week that saw him perform with Alicia Keys at Yankee Stadium for the second World Series game. As well, his new album, The Blueprint 3, was his 11th No. 1 U.S. album on the Billboard charts, the most by a solo artist and surpassing Elvis Presley."Surreal," is the way the musician summed it up when asked about the milestone in Montreal the other day. "In any genre, whether you're taking about Elvis or The Beatles, those names are immortal. For a rapper, it's unprecedented. Hip-hop artists don't have long careers."This one sure does -- and long nights, too!
